Oh What Fun!

2011 was a fun year for the Gill Family. We ended the year with a great Christmas at home. We spent the morning watching our children's joy as they realized Santa had come the night before. We then went up to Seattle to celebrate Christmas with a very casual yet tasty linne (lunch +dinner). Christmas day was totally enjoyable and easy this year. My wonderful husband was so good to me and the kids were so excited. Happy New year to you all!

The Winter wonderland from Hell

The boys have personalized bean bags that have been a staple in our office for years. This year while my friend and I were drinking coffee and coincidentally discussing how we are terrible mothers for never letting our children play with messy toys ie play dough, finger paint, ect. we realized the four children were far too quiet we decided to check on them. As I got upstairs all I could let out was a gasp. The entire room was about 3 inches deep with little foam balls from the deflated bean bags. The kids were making "snow angles" and having "snowball" fights. We took photos and laughed until the clean up began.  The mess quickly filled 10 large shopvac containers with many more little white balls continually being found around the house.

BabyButton

As you all know we have another baby on the way. We are all so excited. Here is a picture of baby button (named by the kiddos) at 9.5 weeks and in the gummy bear phase. Baby should be here June 1st if all goes as planned.... and babies never do.

Halloween in Tumwater

We had another wonderful Halloween in Countryside Neighborhood. We had lots of trick or Treaters and saw enjoyed seeing our friends. This year Kyle's mom made the boys costumes. Landon went as a bat with sparkle wings and Payton went as his favorite character, Mickey Mouse. We got tons of candy which and the boys were allowed to have as much as they wanted before bed and then kept 5 pieces for the next day, the rest went to Kyle's work.

Kindergarten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Landon went to his first year of elementary school on September 12, 2011. I was so scared about him going to a big boy school but he is doing wonderful. He has Mrs. Clark in the AM class. She is super sweet. Landon has some great friends in his class that we have started a carpool with. There were some really tense moments of fear (mostly me) and some unfamiliar territory (I swear this one is Landon) but we made it through to the second week and all is well. Here are some photos of Landon's big day. Did I mention that Payton HAD to have his backpack on too! haha

Priest Lake paradise!!!!!!!!!!!

The Gill family trekked all the way to Northern Idaho to arrive at Priest Lake, ID. We went with five amazing families we met while Kyle was in dental school. We had made an oath to take a trip every year and this year we went to heaven aka Priest Lake. We had 7 kids and 10 adults all playing in the water from 9 in the morning until many late night dips around 9pm. Most everyone turned brown in the sun except for the Gill family we either burned (me) or stayed white with sunscreen (Kyle).  This was one of the best trips I have ever been on and I can only hope there are many more to come with these amazing people.

Birthday Boy!

Landon just had his 5th birthday. He is such a smart, funny little(well not so little) guy. Even when I am mad with him, he can make me laugh. He recently told Payton that he had to go into swim lessons in "human feet" where he was going into lessons in bear (bare) feet. We had a really great birthday starting with Trix cereal for breakfast, then wii Mario baseball, turkey sandwich for lunch, park, last t-ball game, pizza party, cupcakes, then more wii. Big day!

Landon's birthday party was Scooby Doo theamed. We had a scavenger hunt where we made Landon a mummy, then opened a Scooby Doo pinata, and made Tie- Dye t-shirts (not my best idea), then the pizza came. The day was fun filled and I can't help but think we only have 95 more birthdays to enjoy.
